Seamus Reilly was born in Ireland and was educated at University College Dublin where he earned a B.A. (Honors) In English and History, and an M.A. in Modern English and American Literature.
He moved to Champaign in 1992 and completed his Ph.D. in English in 1997. The title of his dissertation was James Joyce, Music and Narrative. He began working at Parkland College in 1999 as an English instructor, became Chair of fine and Applied Arts in 2006, and Vice President for Institutional Advancement in 2008.
The Great Lakes Consortium for Petascale Computation (GLCPC) facilitates the widespread and effective use of petascale computing to address frontier research questions in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics at research, educational, and industrial organizations across the United States.
